Making final preparations to lift a plate girder span off its piers.
A workman on the cherry picker works under the span, cutting
the last remaining bolts holding the span in place. The A-frame,
equipped with four heavy-duty slings, waits to move in
when the span is freed from its supports for the lift.
The time is about ¾ hour before high tide.
